There are lots of activities you can do on the lake but it was just amazing to get in for a dip! The water is cold to start with but once you get use to the temperature it's a gorgeous place for a swim!

My partner and I stayed on a campsite by the lake which was perfect about 30 minutes outside taupo. The lake is so calm and peaceful and lots of birds to watch. People swim in it. Picnic by it and walk around it. I understand...More

While I went out on a private boat, it is one of the most serene experiences on a hot clear day. I definitely recommend lazing on a boat at this lake on a fine day for some serious R&R.

The lake was so amazing. It is huge with crystal clear water. I love to see the wild life like ducks and also the huge garden nearby.

We love Taupo so much that we have bought our forever home here! Always plenty to do in town but so many places to go to get away from it all. We love Spa Park for walking the dog. Taupo is so doggy friendly.

Wow this lake is huge, clearest water and a great place to kayak especially from Acacia Bay. Ducks, beautiful parkland surrounds, million dollar houses and fantastic views of the lake and about an hour kayaking from the Maori rock carvings.
