A very small animal park but it is free. The children ( and some parents ) will love it. Includes a playground and hands on experience with some of the animals. Surrounded by lovely gardens. Enjoyed the walk through aviary in particular. Highly recommended.

This is only a small zoo, but very good for small kids as well as adults. It is FREE to enter and contains a number of barnyard animals like pigs and chickens, as well as monkeys, meerkats and a flight aviary. Well worth a visit

Walk them through Pukekura park and head for the Zoo. It's a small Zoo but our kids loved it and the park in the middle was great! Next time I'd bring a picnic!

The zoo is not only for kids and is a nice place to visit in New Plymouth. It's possible to walk from town through the park
