We set out to do the loop track, a 1.5 hour walk. There a plenty of tui and bellbirds in the area so take your binos. The track was quite muddy in places and needed some careful footwork. Helpful orange markers followed the track so there was no risk of getting lost even when the track was looking less like... More

what a great day on what could have been a boring rainy day. Had a great experience kayaking across lake to glow worm cave then on to thermal baths and then back. 4 hours well spent would happily repeat on what is a beautiful lake with many wild fowl

We had a half day lake cruise with lunch. Very nice, easy time. We had bonus; free time in thermal swimming pools. Nice time

Take the time to just sit and take in the view. It is so beautiful. Pristine water overlooked by snow capped mountains. Unfortunately we were a bit pressed for time and didnt do a long walk. If you do visit the lake, take some bread to feed the eels (im not sure if you are suppose to). We saw some... More

Loved Lake Rotoiti - we were staying at the VR Lakeside Hotel which borders on the lake and afforded lovely views. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting Manupirua Springs by boat, Karere falls & the Karere store. Will definitely visit again next year..

Stayed at a beautiful lodge with the extended family. Days were spent in the calm shallows of the lake with my 5 year old nephew while my teenage kids explored water sports with their dad. Afternoons were spent fishing for trout and actually catching a couple. A brilliant beautiful place to visit for all ages.

Lake Rotoiti has a very strange and long name ….. Te Rotoiti-kite-a-Ihenga. named after the founder… This lake is very close to famous Rotorua Lake and connected to it by Ohau Channel. If you get to see its ok if not still its fine… nothing that you would miss on!

The hot water springs right next to the beautiful placid and cool lake waters of Rotoiti is an amazing combination. There are pools of different temperatures to suit individual needs. One can choose to dip just your feet or soak the entire body in the hot water...either is extremely relaxing. These springs can only be accessed via a boat.

This lake was rather strange in that the warm water was rising up from the lake obviously because of the volcanic nature of the lake. The smell wasn't very nice in some angles but to be expected in Rotorua.
