Polynesian Spa is New Zealand’s leading international day spa. In a picturesque, tranquil setting overlooking Lake Rotorua, visitors can enjoy a wonderful fusion of relaxing hot spring pool bathing, sumptuous spa and massage therapies and picturesque lake views. Polynesian Spa has the use of two types of hot mineral water, one alkaline and one acidic, that are the unique point of difference of the operation. Many thousands of visitors to the spa have attested to the remedial effect the hot mineral waters have on such ailments as muscular complaints, arthritis and rheumatism. The Priest and Radium springs are most noted in this respect. We invite you to experience this World Top Ten Spa (natural/thermal/medical), as voted by readers of the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller magazine for several years and once again in 2011. We look forward to welcoming you to Polynesian Spa.

I'm not sure what was worse; the dirty water, birds (both the noise and actually swimming in the same spa pools) or some of the tourists just camping out (the entire hour we were there) on the spa chairs. Avoid the Polynesian spa.

Unfortunately when we came the family pool was out of action, but our young children still enjoyed the lakeside pools which are set in a very beautiful landscaped garden. My husband and I had massages and they were excellent. Great service and the facilities were clean and relaxing. Definitely one of the best spas I have been to.

What better way to spend a couple of hours on a dull day, than to soak in the soothing waters of the Polynesian Spa. Temperatures vary from just warm to 43 degrees! There are options to choose from and we went for the Double Dipper which let you try different pools and the Adult pool. Towels are supplied and there's... More

One of our favourite part of the trip was going to the Polynesian Spa. We visited the spa in the evening and enjoyed our experience that much more because of the rain.

Full disclaimer: After a couple of disappointing experiences with hot springs (Polynesian Spa being the most recent) I've decided I am not a fan. I would have rated this lower, but gave it three stars to compensate for my bias. I went to Polynesian Spa with my husband on our Honeymoon as part of a two week vacation around New... More

This was our favourite spa experience in New Zealand. It was really professionally run and offered really good service to clients. We felt the showers and changing facilities were really top notch and just lovely to experience after all the relaxation. We enjoyed all the different pools and were really able to relax. Also great for my husbands cut leg... More

Taking the advice from various publications we arrived early at around 10.30.The pools were practically empty and at times we were the only couple in one of the eight smallish pooles.Best advice is to avoid busy "late afternoon / evening " .

We did the private bath at the Polynesian Spa. Nice experience and quite relaxing. Didn't need the full 30 minutes but good to have more time than we needed. We also loaded up on mud masks at the gift shop, $5 for a small packet made great presents. Would recommend a visit. Just be prepared for it to be a... More

What can you say about these fantastic pools? It does what it says on the tin. A variety of mineral pools, different temperatures and different minerals. Not just good for the physical body, but also good for the soul. As someone who lives with chronic pain - I can say hand on heart that soaking every day here reduces my... More
