This trip had a nice mix of squealing excitement and serene beauty with amazing tour guides. This experience was great for both me (25) and my mum (57)!

Rafted down Wairoa river which can only be done approx 26 days/year! Grade 5 so lots of Rapids and thrills aplenty!! 18 of us so x3 rafts. Gear in good condition and suitably fitted before short bus ride to where our rafts entered the river. Emphasis on safety, clear instructions given, demonstrated then practiced before beginning the fun!! Great experience... More

We rafted the Kaikuna river in February 2016, after a few days of heavy rains. The water level on the river was the highest allowed to raft. We had such a great time with our guide, Justin! The waterfalls were thrilling, but also felt completely safe. We had time in the early part of the river to practice the paddle... More

This was quite the thrill. Loved going off the 7 meter waterfall. The Kaituna river is one of the most beautiful rivers I've seen. I highly recommend this! Probably our favorite activity on the North Island. Our guides made us feel very safe and prepared. It was shorter than I had expected, but still worth it. They had us jump... More

There isn't really much I can say about this, other than we absolutely loved it! We were picked up by Matt from our hotel and taken to the base centre. Matt was awesome and kept us entertained for the short journey and throughout the remainder of the day! I have never been White Water Rafting before but felt right at... More

My daughter and I booked A rafting trip The guides were lighthearted safety oriented Not only did they make the adventure fun but it the whole time I felt like I was confident and on top each bend and rapped-it in the river Our guide Ross engaged everyone in the boat to participate even if you were elected he was... Eight members of our OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel) group joined the RIver Rats for a great afternoon. Each raft had 6 paddlers and two staff and we tackled rapids from #3... It's definitely "hands on" faced with churning white water we're told to PADDLE--not hang on and watch. We were all well prepared in helments, booties and wet suits (and... More

Like all these outdoor adventures it takes courage and action. Skilled raft leaders took us thru safety briefings before during and after the trip. They provide life jackets, wet suits and booties. Yes it's risky and it was still a great day out. Stories and memories to last a lifetime and it wasn't even on my bucket list. I survived... More

I was extremely nervous leading up to the rafting, however felt completely safe during the rafting as the guides were good at providing safety info and one of them kayaked down the rapids to assist people if they fell out. Our guide, Mike was hilarious which made the experience more fun. The rapids were great! I did not think I... More
