great starting point for the walking track to Waitangi

Very pretty horse shoe falls at the start of the walking track to Waitangi. The track itself is then splendid with bush and mangrove.

Haruru falls is an easy spot to visit when you're driving past. It's not particularly spectacular but very pretty!

It was so quiet at Harutu Falls. Easy to find from Paihia. Lay back on the rocks. Watch for kings fishers and other beautiful birds.

Waterfall is picturesque and you can make fine photos. Whats more it is possible to rent a canoe nearby.

The walk from Waitangi is 5 kilometres and while the walk has some beautiful ferns and wet lands when you get to the falls they are only about 5 metres high. Then you walk back the same path another 5 kms. If like us you walked from the Paihia ferry the round trip is at least 13 kms and there... More

Actual falls are nothing spectacular but the location is nice and perfect location to eat lunch. Falls are a 5m walk from the car park, not really suitable for wheelchair access as there are steps. Area is in a kiwi protection zone so dogs not allowed. Wild chicken and roosters walking around looking for food scraps.

Small falls, but worth the look. The walk from the Waitangi is partly a board walk through the Mangroves. Take care if you find large uneven stairs difficult, a few hard ones at the falls end with the usual no hand rails; some tricky bits over tree roots and rocky portions in the path. Rainbow falls is really pretty and... More

We kayaked to the falls and were a little disappointed with them. The were a little small and were right off of a road so it lacked a peaceful quality.

Not the most spectacular after Huka Falls visit, but certainly worth visiting especially in the evening. As the sun lowers and light changes it becomes a picturesque scene
