Well worth a visit, but make a day of it and visit the Rere Falls & the Arboretum at the same time. Take a boogie board or a cheap blow up mattress to use and if like me you attract sand flies take some insect...More

I'd seen this on TV and Facebook videos and always planned to get here. Today was the day - equipped with wetsuits and boogie boards it's a great detour. It's steeper and longer than I expected - my 10 yo was scared off bout our...More

Didn't go down the slide with it being winter but still a nice place to go to on a drive from town. A bit muddy and not quite as pretty as the falls for a picnic spot but nice anyway. Picnic tables and toilet facilities...More

Although it looks a little intimidating, it is an amazing experience! Take something to ride on, at least until you know how it feels!

All you need is togs & an inner tube for some great old fashioned fun created by nature. Went as a kid just as much fun with my kids.

Well worth the visit, no words really explain the thrill of powering down the Rere Rockslide. Just be careful walking on the rocks up the top as they are extremely slippery and dangerous

Well worth a visit if only to watch the youngsters sliding down the rocks and into the pool below. Will vary a great deal depending on the amount of water going down the slide.

If you arrive in Gisbourne you can rent a car and drive there. It is maybe two hours there and lots to see. You can enjoy some of the jungle, hike about, and see the falls. Pack a picnic and eat at falls or swim a bit... More
