A wonderful exhibition of early Auckland and very similar al displays in Australia, The story of the "Fencibles" is very interesting and is totally different to Australia. Helpful staff and great history. Find the real ive rabbit in the garden!

Understand the early English settlers in New Zealand, their early grocery store, school, huts and comfortable homes. An early mill is also part of the attraction.

Best museum in Auckland. Takes you back in time and lets you experience what life was like back then. Hard to imagine living like that and yet they were so resourceful. Volunteer staff were friendly and attentive, their enthusiasm for their roles brings the place...More

If you are keen on local history this is a nice place to visit as in a park and you can see how people lived as have actors, parking should be fine, if you have time visit the town of Howick as it is one...More

What a lovely surprise. Absolutely beautiful old home with a very interesting history. Is in wonderful condition. Small admission charge. Very helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit

I don't know either as we were on a self-drive holiday but the "I site" in Auckland ( down on the harbour) would be able to advise you, they are fantastic sites all around NZ to help with this sort of enquiry and tours... More

The villiage is open every day but better to go on the weekends when there is more activity. The best accommodation is Halfmoon bay Marina which is a short drive away but also 5 minutes walk to the ferry terminal where you... More
