We were staying on Jervois Road in the Three Lamps area, so we walked half-way down Ponsonby Road and admired the shops. Many had attractive store fronts but we felt the things for sale were expensive compared to downtown. We found that the green City...More

We loved our walk from the City and strolled down Ponsonby Road stopping off for great coffee, (and there is plenty of choice)breakfast and wandering into the gorgeous shopping precinct and Village Market. All high Quality eating houses and boutiques are definitely worth the visit.

Gentrification of this nner city suburb has brought many quality shops - boutiques to restaurants and everything in between. Ponsonby Central is a delightful mix of shops, cafes and fresh food outlets.

We walked from the CBD into Ponsonby to pass a quiet day. You will be met with lovely (and topographic) parks, strange statues and street art, mixed in with boutique bars, pubs and restaurants. Shopping is also nice. I recommend walking through the back streets...More

Ponsonby itself is beautiful and in a great location with access to most anywhere in the city pretty conveniently. Though a bit expensive, I stayed in a hostel that was still well priced and enjoyed the hell out of my time there. Want to go...More

Christmas in NZ with daughter and family. "You gotta see the lights in Franklin Road." Such throngs of people, and musicians, and excitement. Various types of Christmas lights, and trees full of flickering lasers. Glad we came.

Try Dizengof in Ponsonby road (think that is correct spelling). Very good selection, be prepared for it to be busy but have a look upstairs as it often has available seating. Delicious food, reasonable prices.
