This museum sits in the top of a dormant volcano with great views of the waterways and bay. It has great information about the New Zealand natives, their culture, many artifacts and much information about the development of the Nation.

Really good exhibits of ANZAC participation in British military engagements. Did not realize they were present in wars in South Africa. Also they have Maori exhibits and do a culture show of their song and dance. Nicely done.

What a awesome experience it was! If you choose to go to the museum you will need a whole day to ensure you make it all the way around. Will definitely go again!

Dropped by the museum while on the Explorer Bus (hop on hop off). Large variety of topics from volcanoes to Maori history. We spent about 2.5 hours visiting and could have spent more time.

Hi Carl, I recall that you needed to provide proof of residency - if you have any kind of ID which shows your Auckland address you should be fine.

Hi there Robert, if it's a large group of people, we suggest booking in advance, but for small parties it should be fine to just show up on the day! If you have any other questions, feel free to fire them through!
