We visited here as part of a bus tour. We didn’t actually go in but we did look around the outside and the views were great.

Must see for everyone visiting New Zealand. It has admission fee but it’s well worth paying. This museum is extremely educational in learning the history of the country and it’s people very honestly and without bias

The war museum has only about 1/3 of its space devoted to history of NZ involvement in WW1. That presentation, however, is excellent; probably not for kids. The remainder is devoted to the geophysical creation of NZ, the history of the Maori culture and developement...More

We took the bus from Auckland Central to the museum. We could have walked also. Good museum. Need several hours to check it out.

History of New Zealand including Maori history and culture. Very enlightening. The indigenous culture presentation with songs and stories fascinating and well done.

Impressive museum bringing together cultural, natural, and war history in one museum. In depth presentation of Maori history and influence. Also a good introduction to New Zealand at war including the New Zealand wars, WWI and WWII. Well done and easy to follow. Be ready...More

Hodge podge of stuff to see inside a very old cool looking building. Would score lower if it wasn’t free. The grounds around the museum are nicely landscaped but again nothing spectacular. I honestly would say you aren’t missing much if yo skip it.
