Visited for both mothers and fathers day

Came with my mum for Mother's Day for an event run by glory days and it was great! Haven't been since I was a child (am now in my 20s) and we had a great day looking around. Came also for Father's Day with my primary aged brothers and had a great time with them, they also had a good... More

We thought that a few hours should do here - but we were wrong - there is just so much to do and see. It is interactive and fun going through the old technology. Had a tram ride to the second site where we also had a steam train ride and an army tank ride. Wow - that was fun.... More

We are fans of heritage villages & science museums & have been to many, large & small, around the world & Motat was OK but not gripping. An old fashioned style museum with lots of glass displays & too much writing. There is an attempt at interactive but some of the games in the tech centre were broken or just... More

We spent a whole day on the two sites at MOTAT, there is more than enough to see to keep everyone interested and occupied from aeroplanes to trams to original buildings to buses, old cars, settlers and much more. The cafe has good food.

The older generations will be interested in the historical village, whilst the younger ones can play to their hearts content. Those in between will enjoy the interactive activities and transport enthusiasts will delight at the fine exhibits from planes to trams, buses to steam engines. It would have got a 5 star rating had it not been for the rudeness... More

MOTAT was established by volunteers, who had a passion for the historic items which the institution was created to preserve. Then the professionals took charge, and everything went downhill. The volunteers were side-lined, and in many cases dismissed. The collection was "modernised", and much of it was dumped. The management wasted a lot of its limited money on gimmicks, changing... Very interesting exhibits. Short tram ride (which is included in the ticket price) to the aecond site with all sorts of cool planes. Short walk from the zoo.

This is a very interesting place for interested in warbirds from British and US. It lacks cafeteria or restaurant though. Price is reasonable to visit this place.

Pretty run down. Many exhibits, broken or just not working. Chaotic design, hard to see it all in a logical way. Parking a nightmare, car park nearby only design for about 25 cars at the main site. The plane site is better for parking, and the exhibits there are really good. The tram between the two is good and it's... More
