Nice place to go with children with a lot of activities and technologies to find out. The tramway between 2 different sites is pleasant and really cool. You can eat to the café if you have patience to wait for and if the waiter doesn't forget to bring your meal.... and it's not because I was well pregnant that I... More

This is an amazing museum. If you're an airplane buff you'll love this place. There are planes from several eras to view and read about their histories. Had a great time and spent several hours on a leisurely strole thru this museum.

Pleasing to find Super Gold Card holders are free, which makes it a reasonably priced, interesting outing to better understand the history of Auckland and New Zealand. There is plenty to see and lots of activities for children as well as the tram ride to the aviation museum. A good tip is to park at the aviation museum and buy... More

I hadn't been to MOTAT in years and was pleasantly surprised to see so many new interactive and fun exhibits. I would definitely recommend going on a Sunday when the print shop is going as well as the steam train, horse and carriage and double decker tram! The cafe left much to be desired. The food was very average and... More

The half day I spent here was both enjoyable and informative. The history of transport is amazing and the restorations are something to be seen. There was plenty of signage providing information and also some staff dressed in character demonstrating engines and giving the opportunity to ask questions. The hands on area to help understand motion was liked equally by... More

We went here for a bit and was very interesting if you like technology and like to see what it used to look like and things they have invented for the future. The aviation centre is pretty good but only really one downside is they have a section of military nd rail but they don't actually tell you it's only... More

The kids had a great time at both sites and loved the tram between sites. So much to see and do for children of all ages, great for the Adults too. We now have an annual pass, well worth the money. Looking forward to going again with the Grandchildren and my Husband.
