I have been here many times as a family and on school trips and have always enjoyed this place, as so have the children I have attened with. The fam yard is a great spot, kids can get up close and personal with the pets here, in the barn they can touch/hold the aimals (under supervision), outside the goats, sheep,... More

Just dropped in for a look-see on the way to the airport. Had a delicious coffee and took ages to select something to eat because everything looked so tempting and I couldn't make up my mind.

We had a few hours to fill in while waiting for a flight. Butterfly Creek is a great way to fill in some time. We found it a short walk from the airport, they stored our bags out the back, and then we found they offer a free shuttle to the airport. Butterflys were very cool, even landed on us.... More

Seemed to only have a few butterfly species, or a majority of one species the day we visited but there were plenty of them. Hardly any monkeys in an average cage. Farm animals was the highlight for us, as was the great cafe. Food was great and good value for money. Would visit the cafe again but at only $5... More

We were suppose to take our grandson to the zoo but changed our minds because the pacifica concert was on in western springs and we didn't want to deal with traffic issues. So we decided to try out butterfly creek not only was it close to where we were staying traffic was light. Our grandson loved the farm animals and... More

We took our two 6-year olds here and it was good fun. For kids even 12 or 13 though, questionable. The dinosaurs are great but the movement is limited. The croc feeding was impressive.

We visited here while delayed for our outbound international flight. We only had 2&1/2 hours but it was perfect for our preschool children. They loved the train and the dinosaurs

Took my bug/insect/butterfly loving 8yo daughter for an afternoon of fun. We weren't disappointed! She loved the butterfly house and tarantulas the most. Spent a lovely 2 .5 hours exploring and she didn't want to leave!

Our Family of 2A + 2C (both under 3) would thoroughly recommend this place for those with a 4-6hr transit in Auckland. They looked after all our luggage (thank you so much!) and the place had a great range of kid friendly activities within walking distance of airport (15mins). Children U3 are free and they loved the variety of encounters... More

Took our 9 and 11 year old boys here today and we were all really impressed with the butterfly part, there were lots of them flying around and it was quite a unique experience. The crocs, monkeys and aquariums were nice extras. Really enjoyed the bugs and reptiles although cages did seem a bit tired and plastic plants were a... More
