Very busy but definitely worth visiting just to see Tane Mahuta -the worlds largest known kauri tree awe inspiring in its size and the Maori mythology that surrounds it.

A Maori guide took us into the forest and explained the ecological system that keeps the giant trees alive and happy.Agreat experience as he both prayed and sang to this giant tree of the forest,well worth a visit.

Very interesting visit - it is amazing to see trees so big, they almost don't seem real. There was a Maori guide there to tell us all about them. There are washrooms here and a picnic area but not a lot of parking spaces.

These giants are as old as Christianity, think on that as you stand in their shadows and feel humbled by their enormity. Father of the forest is so wide it looks like a cliff face at first glance. amazing nature.
