The Barracks Arch sits near to the freeway which almost lead to its demise. It is a fine structure which has been preserved for future generations to admire.

The arch is all that's left of the old barracks when it was demolished to make way for the motorway. The arch was also going to be demolished probably for political reasons as it obstructed the views from parliament on the hill behind. However, a...More

Amazing how it's just standing there on the road. Probably not worth an extra trip, but stop if you're passing.
