You can see, pet and play with kangaroos. They are friendly. They are small. There are only 3 kangaroos there but they are cute.

We walked to Heirisson Island from our hotel. It was about 4 city blocks. Once there, we started looking for the kangaroos. We finally found 5 of them lying in the cool grassy area that was sort of wet and boggy. They did not mind us there. I took a couple of pictures of them lying there.

went jogging there: an island of tranquillity close to the city. Very beautiful, good walking paths.

Close to the CBD, Heirisson island is worth the walk - or run! The island is divided into 2 parts, with the Kangaroos in one half. The Kangaroos are tame, but free - so they choose how they let you come! Despite some negative reviews i didn't find it scruffy or littered

Was a beautiful and hot summer day and there was no kangaroos! There was nothing actually on the island. :( but yet a lovely place to visit and a great view from Perth city centre.

Easy walk from the CBD. It's so peaceful and lovely to see the Kangaroos lazing around - they are happy to e stroked. Plenty of wild birds and we were lucky to see a few dolphins swim by.

Could have been the wrong time of day for them (late afternoon), but there was nothing..no "evidence" of them even, if you know what I mean.. Go up to Pinnaroo cemetery at dusk, you can see lots of them there at that time..

Lovely to stop and stretch your legs so close to the city, but it is a pity there are homeless aboriginals camping there, leaving their rubbish behind. A nice place to watch all the boating activity on the weekend, or a nice place to try a spot of fishing

Sort of a scruffy piece of parkland but that's makes it interesting. Its not a zoo. You may see the kangaroos and maybe not. Beware the annoying flies.
