We attended a sneaker exhibition here some time ago. It was excellent and we really enjoyed ourselves. The gallery itself is easy to get to, easy to find and easy to get around.

Very interesting art and sculpture. I especially liked the large statues by the staircase on the ground floor. Very good and eclectic mix of different periods, different styles and cultures. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited this as a little time-filler during a family break in Perth (before flying off) and had a fantastic time. Not too big and really enjoyed both the more traditional and modern artists on display.

The gallery is part of the Perth cultural centre and is very close to the railway station. There is a fine collection of indigenous art and I liked the special exhibition by Julie Dowling. Mainstream art Australian art is well represented by the likes of...More

No special exhibitions showing so a number of galleries were closed. However had a welcoming showing of Western Australian focused art which we found very good In some ways, being smaller is more inviting as a casual 1- 1.5 hour visit is culturally satisfying without...More

This is an excellent gallery, with a great range of work. I loved the Aboriginal art especially, never having seen such a range before. It did have some ridiculous tat (a collection of ‘work’ comprising 6 mirrors on a wall, for example; a bike painted...More

I love to take my time and when I visited there were several spaces closed for change of exhibition, spent three or so hours. Sounds like when you visit they will all be open...I would allow minimum of three and if you are... More

I remember seeing a painting in your gallery (2 years ago?) by one of the "Heidelberg School"... ?McCubbin, Roberts? ... I don't remember who! It was a "cottage" scene, in the kitchen. As I recall, it showed a fire, with kettle on the hob, etc, with mantlepiece above. On the mantlepiece was an "old" clock (by our modern standards). When I came home, I looked at the old clock we have here, and I thought, "This is the same (or close to it) as the one in that painting in the WA Art gallery!" I now regret not taking more notice of that painting. Perhaps I should have taken a photo? (Is that allowed these days?) I can't recall the details of the painting... not even of the artist. I have a particular interest in Roberts/Mc Cubbin et al. and would be interested in finding out more about this painting if I can. Are you able to help me please? Can you identify the painting I have described? I'm sorry I don't have the name of the paining or even of the artist... just the "impression" it left on me. (I would love to have a picture of the painting... perhaps you have one in your shop?) Thank you for taking the trouble to at least read this e-mail... and, I hope, being able answer my query, Sincerely, Allen Edwards Bayswater, Victoria ________________________
