Cable Beach is unquestionably stunning and a must see even during the wet season. There are many reasons to love Cable Beach but during the wet season (including that there a relatively few people), one of the reasons to love Cable Beach is the fine white sand closer to the ocean is flat and firm - great to walk or run along (see pictures attached). There is also the crab artwork to enjoy (see picture). However, during my last two vacations to Cable Beach during the wet season, the sand hasn't been firm enough to make for an easy run where I liked to run along the beach. That's because I normally head to the left for my runs. However, I've recently discovered that if I head to the right, the sand is flat and firm and perfect for an early morning or evening run. So I recommend that if the sand on one side of the beach isn't firm - you should try the other side.

A very beautiful beach which extreme tides. The best photos are tide out at sunset in the wet season. The water varies from pretty cold in the dry to luke warm in the wet season. There are stingers all year, especially in the wet season, oh and the occasional croc takes a swim there. There is the Cable Beach House or the Surf Club at the top which serves cold beer and great views over the ocean.

Well I expected a long beach but it was far longer than I had thought,.. it was very clean and the tide was very high on the time we were there.
But I was surprised to see all the surrounding resorts and beautiful homes.
The gardens along the beach front were just beautiful and well-maintained.. there was a restaurant and bar along the front ,and we were lucky enough to see the camels being walked through the suburb onto the beach for their evening walk.

This place is a great spot for photos and chilling. You can see crabs but not many, photos were really good here but get down there early to get a good spot we’re there is little people when you aren’t on the beach there is a bunch of seats to take a rest I think there is a playground but I’m sure. the car park was good but the parks are a little tight so I recommend getting one near the edge. Over all it is a nice sandy spot to watch the beautiful sunset over the beach. Would recommend going here🙂

Spending time at the beach during the day is restful and worth the effort, warm sand and calm warm water to swim in. However when the sun starts to set does the magic and majesty of this iconic Australian beach begin to show. The sunsets over this beach are some of the most spectacular we have ever witnessed. They are breathtaking and a real bucket list experience.

This beach is absolutely stunning a definite must if you are in Broome. We hired loungers and an umbrella for 4 hours which cost around $30. The guys take care of carrying everything to the area you want and then put the umbrella up along with the loungers. Very friendly and very helpful. We had lunch at the nearby cafe (sorry can’t remember the name of it but the pizza was delicious). Surf life are also on the beach.

The beach is lovely, clean, warm water and soft sand, safe to swim in. Loungers, chairs and brollies for hire $25 for 2 hours or $35 for half a day. Zanders is the only cafe on the beach and is only open a few days a week when went at Easter.

Fantastic beach. It's well set up with a patrolled area where you can safely swim and it's easy to hire umbrellas and sunshades. If you want to get away from the crowds, the beach is almost deserted if you just walk a couple of minutes. There are facilities right above the beach including toilets, showers and a fabulous restaurant / takeaway (Zanders). The beach is tidal and there's quite a difference between high tide and low tide.

Cable Beach is an iconic place in Broome and with pristine white sand that stretches for many kilometres, it is easy to see why. It is popular with locals and tourists who can enjoy a range of activities from swimming and sunbathing to walking and running. It is a perfect place to relax. The sunsets are very special too.

Wow firstly I could not believe how far the tides come in around here .
We went to cable beach and the tide was going out in fact the life guards had to keep moving their flags every half hour or so to keep up lol .
Huge beach very long , great sand to walk on because it’s mostly wet the best part is you can hire umbrellas, chairs and kids boogie boards .
2hr umbrella hire $10 we hired and umbrella and 2 beach chairs for 2 hrs at $25 .
Since we are tourists from Sydney we we’re wary of swimming even though we could see others swimming in the beach we wanted to know more about the local crocs and irukanji.
We spoke to the lifeguards which were fantastic they explained everything to us which made us feel better even though yes there are irukanji and they usually scoop regularly but due to the current they couldn’t that day but no one has been stung in quite awhile , also factors of water temp , tides and time of the year play a big part .
Basically it can happen but not likely .
Tide was going out as well so that was even better.
Crocs well they can be spotted sometimes swimming across out the back of the waves but very rarely come in close but if one is spotted they close the beach immediately. If you want to swim it seems to be well managed and checked as long as you only swim at this beach we’re there are lifeguard on duty , the other side of Broome is not as safe .
So yes we swam absolutely loved it we left before sunset as apparently it gets packed then as everyone comes to watch the sunset .

My understanding is the same. WA has closed it's borders.

I'm just not sure as some people say Uber is in Broome and some say it's not. Does uber exist in Broome ?
Written 7 May 2017
Broome has its own Rideshare App called 'TaTa Ride'. You can download it on App or play store.
Their rideshare service is unmatchable and the only one of its kind! Very responsive App and connects to the nearest driver in seconds, as opposed to an hour's wait for local taxis!

How do I get from airport to seashells hotel ? Uber ? I'm going solo.
Written 5 May 2017
Hi,
they do not have Uber in Broome. You can hire a car and pick up it at the airport. Otherwise you can take a taxi or as third possibility you can book a transfer ( just check the website of Broome Transfer)
Have a nice day

Wots the best way for a single 54 yo woman to see cable Beach, Broome & surrounds?
Written 24 July 2016
Hi, I was a woman travelling alone. I spent some of my time at the Mangrove Hotel and some at an air BnB at Cable Beach. Although you can walk into the old town from the Mangrove- pearls, markets, Matso's, cinema, Old Broome Gaol, sandalwood, etc. you need some other form of transport to get to Cable Beach. I hired a car which made life much easier and let me visit Cable Beach and Town Beach ( good cafe there) each day, as well as the Museum, Gantheaume Point and a variety of restaurants etc. I took a day trip to Derby in it without problem. However you need to book a tour of a few days or day trips to really see the more remote or off-road sights and places like Cape Leveque. Broome (including Cable Beach) is quite spread out, I think it would be not nearly so easy or pleasant without some form of transport (tons of taxis around though I didn't see lots of buses). I always felt safe.

What's the best way to see Broome, Cable Beach etc for a single 54 yo woman?
Written 24 July 2016
I was there solo- a car would have been useful as I found it expensive to do things otherwise. Heading out to Willie Creek Pearl Farm is really expensive by coach. The local city buses were cheap though. The local bus took in quite a few of the sights so is a cheap option for a day or two. You can get an early bus (it was 730am from Chinatown) down to Guantheaume Point then walk the 5km to Cable beach and get back on the bus there to explore town...

This may seem like a silly question but we're looking for things to do with an almost 1 year old. Can they ride on the camels with parents?
Written 15 May 2015
Weve seen couples with cery young children riding cameks ... One baby younger than 12 month old was very distressed and scared and cried most of the time - this wasnt fun for parents or people behind them :) another kid in front of us was probably a bit older, may be 1,5 , was only crying when getting onto her camel and afterwards seemed to have enjoyed herself. So really depends on you and your kid and if you are prepared to take the risk of them not enjoying ... Once you are on the camel you are there for 1 hour! I think there are 30min pre sunset tours you can try which might be better.
Swimming walking and just playing with the sand are always there of course. Before swimming at cable check regarding stingers present in the water - no point risking it with a young child.
