Beautiful little church to visit and catch a glimpse of the aboriginal village / community that seems a very happy and well run place.

It was such different experience to stop in a remote and desolate community and see such beautiful church with an interesting history.

We took the Horizontal Falls trip so on the way out to Cape Leveque Beagle Bay Community is a stop for pre breakfast. The entire community is well ordered but the church is incredible. It was mostly built by WW2 German missionary and other internees. The decorations are most locally sourced Mother of Pearl these are brilliant.

A must see if you are up this way, if only to view the architecture and the lovely decorations featured in inside the building.

Lovely location, lots of history. Uniquely decorated with Perl Shells. Very tranquil environment. Still a active church.

In September 2015 we drive 4X4 to Cape L'Evêque and we stop at Beagle Bay for a little lunch. We discover the very beautiful white church of Aboriginal People. She is decorated with many bright shell. It's a quiet place, and it's a good stop along the sandy track.

Stopped briefly while returning on tour from Horizontal falls. The church's interior is decorated by local Pearl Shells.

If you're driving up the peninsular then definitely call in to Beagle Bay to see this church with its mother of pearl adornment inside. Lots of places around Broome shut down from about 11am until about 1pm so don't rely on getting supplies at the local store if you're there between those times.
