One of the older arcades (shops lining an indoor walkway) in Melbourne. Architecture is interesting but if you have seen another old arcade in Melbourne don't make a special trip for this one.

The Block Arcade is synonymous with Melbourne and one could not imagine the city without this iconic locality. Every time I walk past the entrance I am tempted to make a detour and look at the 19th century design and artwork. There is a variety...More

Block Arcade is one of my favourite gems in Melbourne. The incredible mosaic floors are stunning, the arches and architecture are lovely. However, the best part is the collection of fascinating speciality shops that are tucked away in here. Haigh's Chocolates (one of the best...More

Block Arcade is a great example of these little arcades that line Melbourne's streets. It's worth just walking through a couple of them.

We had morning tea in Hopetoun tea rooms. Very cute. Lovely cakes. Good service. Very prompt. We didn't have to wait long at all.

Brilliant and gorgeous, full of visual delights. Everywhere you looked there were Beautiful things to see of a bygone era. A photographers dream with some of the structures and the graffiti on one or two was very quirky.

I always enjoy walking through the block arcade. Lovely shops, and of course Haigh's chocolates. Love the history, architecture would recommend a stroll through.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
