The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is Australia's largest, oldest and most popular sporting venue. The MCG has hosted plenty of international cricket, including the first-ever Test and the 1992 World Cup final, countless VFL/AFL Grand Finals, the 1956 Olympic Games and 2006 Commonwealth Games. It also hosted the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Other sporting spectacles include FIFA World Cup soccer qualifiers, rugby league home and away matches and State of Origin and international rugby union clashes. Apart from its sporting events, the MCG has also witnessed many blockbuster music concerts, and even Pope John Paul II held a mass there when he visited Melbourne in 1986. The MCG has a total capacity of 100,024 people, comprising 95,024 seats and 5000 standing room spaces. The stadium also houses the National Sports Museum, which includes some of the most priceless pieces of memorabilia in Australian sporting history.

Its a cricket ground with an over inflated ego! Nothing special though perhaps for diehard cricket fans it maybe worth a visit!

tour of MCG was disappointing. Rushed from point to point with snippets of information only. Mostly cricket focused, would liked to have seen more of the AFL side

We had no idea what to expect, but we walked away fans. There was a women's match happening while we were visiting, so instead of just going on a tour of the facility, we went to watch the match. If you do not know much...More

Visited the 'G' for the first time so had the tour of the stadium, the tour guide was brilliant and very knowledgeable. For the price the museum is well worth visiting as well.

Really enjoyed the MCG tour. Our guide Lance was great, so knowledgeable. The museum was amazing, bigger than I expected.

A wonderful free facility that allows you to capture a view of Melbourne with a limited a commentary of the main areas. On top of this it us a hop on hop off service. Use the number 35 tram called the city circle.

You can walk there from flinders st station or Richmond station. Guided tour if interested. Best at a sporting match at its full capacity as the crowds can give you best effect of the complex.

The tour of the MCG Museum is fantastic. It has lots of memorabillia on both Cricket & AFL Football. We especially enjoyed the Holograph with Shane Warne Plenty of interesting history about the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
