It's got a good penguin exhibit and evens breeds penguins there. The main aquarium is based around marine life from southern parts of Australia and has lots of sharks and rays. The local seahorses are worth a look at. Overall, it is good, but not that good that you would want to have repeat visits. The price is a bit... More

Another great aquarium visit! We spent part of a day at the Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium and it was fabulous. Like a lot of bigger aquariums we have visited before this one was comparable in the set up, good signage, easy to get around even with the stroller patrol out in force when we were there. Took way too many... More

Ok I only went because I had a ticket as part of packaged deal. I have been to many Sea Life themed places. But I have to say that this one was very well presented. I was there alone but I think it would have been fantastic if I had some kids with me. A lot of the viewing areas... More

I love going to the Melbourne aquarium. It's full of life and it's real. Very clean, organised and the time flys when ever I visit it. The sharks and the rays are huge and you can see beneath them thanks to the glass gallery. I always like sit at the front it and admire Mother Nature and these wild species

By a ticket on-line so you don't have to queue. Loved the jellyfish and the sea horse. My kids love the shop!

It is impossible for me to describe how beautiful the Melbourne Aquarium is. The exhibits are amazing and children will love them. When we were there there was a small tank were children can touch some safe sea animals. Definite a great day out for families and the popular Southbank is close by for food and if you aren't tired... More

I took my one year old baby to the aquarium recently. She enjoyed it and so did I . I have been there before so I am a fan. The penguins are always my favorite and the crocodile is spectacular. It is super busy at times and can be very cramped with a stroller. I wish it was bigger in... More

This was not even close to an aquarium or worth the money. Boring... To put it mildly. I love paying $5 for a Gatorade, thanks for that.

This is a great place to take the whole family. The exhibits are well presented and it is easy to navigate through the whole aquarium. We all liked the walkway where the fish including sharks and stingrays swim on top of you. Our most popular exhibit was the penguins. It was amazing to watch how fast they can swim. Don't... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
