The beginning of the Sea Life experience is gentle but the more it goes on the more it rises to a crescendo. I loved the weedy Sea Horses, I've never seen any sea creature look so much like a weedy plant. There are two types of Penguin in their ice cold enclosure but the King Penguins with their yellow necks... More

Given Melbourne is Australia's 2nd largest city, I admittedly had higher expectations for this attraction. I am very grateful to Groupon for getting my partner and I a deal here because I was incredibly underwhelmed. Though I appreciate Aquariums are designed primarily for kids, the ones in Sydney, Noosa and Cairns are all far superior to the basic Aquarium in... More

I have been here a few times with my children. It's not a place we look back at and think 'gosh didn't we have a great day at the Aquarium'. We enjoy ourselves there and it's OK but not top of the list when planning our outings or really even on the list... more last resort and running out of... More

It's by no means a budget-friendly outing, but I will concede that there is more value for money than the last time I visited Melbourne Aquarium. Their shark and ray collection is quite impressive and their jellyfish make for some cool photos. Their crocodile is okay (but I didn't listen to the spiel about it) Their penguins were a nice... Its a great place to take the kids on school holidays and its very educational. I loved just sitting in the middle of the centre of the Aquarium and just watching all the fish big and small. The Penguins were great to watch also.

Even beginners can scuba dive with some fine Aussie sharks, rays and fish here. Once you are in it is magical as they swim right near you. You will forget to be scared. Most of them keep their mouth closed! An hour scuba training gets you in the water with them. You will sign a strict health waiver so look... More

Thank you for reviewing your experience here at Sea Life Melbourne! It seems you completed our Shark Dive Extreme experience! The dive takes you into our Oceanarium where you get to meet all our resident sharks and sting rays up close and personal. It is a lot of fun and is also for complete beginners to scuba diving with all... More

Hubby and I walked across the bridge from the crown to visit the aquarium. This place is amazing, the large walk through aquarium with mermaid statues and sharks, I spotted a turtle in one as well. It's also quiet educational to be honest. The penguins are adorable and stinky. There is a massive crocodile. Make sure if you go, that... More

we had an aftenoon with our 2 year nephew - he was blown away away by the ' fishes, sharks and more colours' in the attractions-what i saw was many families having a very educational and enjoyable time. It was well worth the admission price. I would suggest that you don't go the canteen to early-it is busy and the... More

Aquarium in Melbourne was great place to spend few hours wondering around. Large fish tank you could stare for hours and short lecture about large fish tank residents was super interesting. Good place for adults and kids and easy to find in the centre of Melbourne.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
