I'll just say we were there for 4 hours. It was great. Expensive cafe but that's expected. So much for all ages.

In my opinion, this is better than other aussie states comparisons. Really liked walking around under the aquariums. Awesome to be glass thickness away from sharks and big water animals! Sealife melb is set out nicely and is worth visiting.

IN SHORT: It's an OK place to spend an afternoon if you'd like to see fish. DETAILED: I went to Melbourne on vacation and saw the aquarium nearby. Figured I'd go because Australia is well known for its sea life. The creatures inside are remarkable, of course, but the aquarium itself is like a MAZE. It seems like it's built... More

Was a quick trip on a Sunday morning, lovely place to visit and is recommended for kids 4+ as they will understand more about what they are looking at also because the 4D cinemas is for kids 4 years and over. The penguin area is most popular. Loved the outdoor balcony overlooking the city.

Aquariums you may see all around the planet, but we found that the entry-fee of this one was extremely expensive compared to others we have been before.

This was my 7y.o first trip to the aquarium and he loved it. I have to say that is an expensive day out but I can understand why (paying staff and the upkeep of the aquarium) We really tried to stretch out our visit but were still out after 2 hours. The 4D cinema is a really nice touch. Staff... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
