I walked seven floors up past a Wing Chun martial art school to a crowded roof top bar with great vibes. Mainly young people, students and workers. Not a posh place. But prices are cheap. Sangria at $8 and margarita at $12. Informal so don't worry about dress code. Burger shack was closed at 1030pm when I got there. No... More

I came here with some good mates and we had a blast. The bar is great for a an evening after work, and the view of CBD is wonderful.

The bad: the bar staff aren't the greatest, even when its not busy it takes ages to get a drink. When they are out of stock of something they dont tell you, they just wander off to go and get whatever it is they ran out of whilst you are left waiting there wondering what is going on. The good:... More

Good place to experience the Melbourne skyline at night, though I wouldn't stay long as it does get rather crowded, especially on the weekend. Fun place that's different from your average pub.

Visited here for a drink Saturday night with some friends. The atmosphere is cool with hipster music, lights and seating. Nice view of Melbourne but quite cold with very few gas heaters and drinks weren't cheap.

We weren't expecting to see a movie so settled in to have a few drinks. A fabulous vista overlooking Melbourne skyline!

On my visit to Melbourne I had to get a drink at a famous rooftop bar, but this was a terrible choice. Though the location and view itself is likely one of the best, it was not worth the visit. There was a long line to get a drink, which were overpriced even for Melbourne. The servers were rude and... More

We met friends here for an afternoon drink in the sun. Melbourne put on its best weather for us and it was very easy to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a jug of delicious Pimms with good company and music in the background, courtesy of a DJ. The burgers were pretty good too. In the summer months this bar... More

This is my 2nd time visiting this rooftop bar. The place to be on a fine Melbourne's day when the sun is out. Good place to chill and waste time with your mates and a cool cider. With a nice view of Melbourne Central and great vibes. I love the burgers with the sweet potatoe fries. Will be back 100%

Another stop for an afternoon drink. Seems like the cool place to be. Drinks cheap, burger bar, and friendly cool crowd.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
