Well worth the long drive. But is is a long drive. It requires a load of concentration, and you must stop and fuel up every once in a while. Epic thing to do.

A great view and a great experience.. a tad tiring though. While everyone encourages you to take the Bus out of Melbourne for a day drive on the Great Ocean Road, please take this advice with a pinch of salt. The Great Ocean Road is...More

We drove to Colac --> 12 Apostles, so missed the Apollo Bay etc drive through the forest. But that scenery if worth the long drive! We had a bit of sea mist that day, but eventually cleared up. It's an iconic part of Victoria's coastline...More

The ride from Melbourne was pretty long. Since the road is quite winding, make sure you have your stomach filled, meds ready. The view along the road was beautiful, but thinking about the drive there, I'll have to think twice about going there for the...More

We drove from Melbourne to Port Campbell following the Great Ocean Road. It took a long time but was beautiful and fun. Careful. Roads and slippery, tiny, full of curves. Even the big ones. Stop at Apollo Bay, Kennett River, Cape Otway, pristine beaches, Gibsons...More

We hired a campervan and spent 2 days on the actual G.O.R. which was insufficient time to really make the most of the sights and to thoroughly enjoy the drive. There are so many places of interest, photographic opportunities, and a few small towns along...More

I have never heard of anyone who doesn't enjoy a trip along the Great Ocean Road. The winding track is full of scenic splendours, including the 12 Apostles. Motorcyclists especially love its twists and turns, but the road can be treacherous. If you don't feel...More

I had this road to myself. Only few cars to overtake. Wednesday mid June. Quiet season. I can't imagine the hold up on this road during peak season with rubbernecks holding up the pace. My suggestion for bikers wanting to take this in from start...More

GOR is a must visit whilst in Melbourne. Drive carefully & slowly because Yellow Fox, Brown Rabbits & Possums (other wild life crosses this stretch of road), The cold cold sea breeze blows strongly...even my hair gel are giving way. But the sight is mesmerizing...More

Hi Elise, The closest town to the Apostles is Port Campbell which is about an 8 hour drive from Adelaide. I think 3 days would be a push: a day to drive, a day to look around, a day to drive home. You might be better staying... More

There is a parking lot at the Apostles and then you can have a walk around for about 5 minutes to see all the Apostles.
