This is a nice way to spend some time in Hobart. There are crowds, but there is a good range of things to look at, even if on the expensive side or impractical for transporting home - wool, clothing, wood, literature, jewellry, teas, food, produce...More

The Arts Centre contains shops selling quality arts and craft items. It is a good place to buy good quality souvenirs from Tasmania.

On the waterfront in Hobart this Art Center is well worth a visit. After having a look around the shops selling local art, Aboriginal art, clothes, jewellery etc, have a coffee and a snack at one of the cafes there which serve really good snacks...More

The Salamanca Arts Centre is worth wandering through looking at the local talent from round Hobart and Tasmania. There were quite a few local artists in the galleries the only problem is getting them home

We visited the Salamanca Market on a Saturday. It was packed with vendors, locals and visitors and was wonderful. There is a large variety of vendors with everything from bread to fruit and woodworking to wool. A "must-do" in Hobart!

Yes, you can take photos for person use throughout Salamanca Arts Centre. However there may be some exhibitions where this is not allowed. If in doubt, please ask the gallery sitters for that particular exhibition.
