Beautiful area

A beautiful suburb of Hobart. Stunning views across the water and onto Hobart. I was staying at a friend's house, perched up on the hillside.

This is the best suburb of Hobart - The Toorak or Elizabeth Bay. Very nice walk or drive from Hobart. Lots of top places to eat or drink or have a coffee.

A very pretty area although a bit windy when we visited. Still very nice place to drop in. Go at high tide.

We stayed in Sandy Bay on this, our first trip to Hobart. We had been warned it was quite a hike from the city centre but being used to walking around Melbourne, we didn't think it was that far! There is a local bus if you prefer and taxis from the centre cost less than $10. It was a great... More

Walked around sandy bay on a cold & miserable spring day , we had 4 seasons in one day!! The walk around was very picturesque . Very many historic homes & many large homes to look at . It would be lovely to visit on a warm day

Sandy bay, one of the most rich area in Tasmania which I heard from some students. Old but interesting, busy also with relax style. It is really continence for local residents and students I guess, because it has Coles, WWS, cafe, bank, restaurant etc. Good place for visit and stay.

Feels like a nice inner city suburb of Melbourne or Sydney. Tree lines streets, boutique coffee shops and restaurants, and a generally nice pleasant part of Hobart. Has a really nice "feel" to it, and I highly recommend trying to stay in the area if you can.

Hobart is one of my favourite places to visit and one of Australia’s best kept secrets according to some. For my visit this time I chose to stay in Sandy Bay, far enough away from the bustle of Hobart city, and I found Mayfair Plaza to be a very convenient hotel, centrally located within the Sandy Bay shopping area. This is a great piece of Hobart. Shops, restaurants and cafes all in a condensed little area. Great vibe and seems a very friendly and welcoming little community.
