We had family visiting from Queensland and started visiting a number of venues around the state this place has a lot going fo it with great views and some ware to eat.

Nice view from the top and nice coffee shop on the premises too. It was a bit pricey but offered a great menu.

This one is a must do. Awesome views over Hobart from the Lockout. Bit chilly on cold windy days but still worth it for the view.

We had a pleasant walk to Mount Nelson from the Truganini track. It was only 2.1km and around 1.5 hours to walk but great view along the way even muddy after a heavy rain. Some creeks and ferns and gumtrees were fabulous! Lots of fun...More

Great views and nice walks. An easy drive up from the CBD. Some interesting info about the signal station. Should be on your to-do list when in Hobart. It's a shame the cafe doesn't open til 10 on weekdays. We were up there 9ish and...More

Sitting having breakfast overlooking this beautiful view on a crisp morning was so peaceful .The drive was well worth the visit .

We ended up here on a whim. And the view was absolutely beautiful. The cafe was superb and it became a highlight of our stay. Beautiful spot!

the cheapest way to view the city from mount nelson is to walk to franklin square and catch a Metro bus from stop N a route 58 weekdays or 57 weekends and public holidays, the cost per adult would be $4.40 one way full fare... More
