Being in the centre of Hobart around Sullivan's Cove is a great experience. We were there from Xmas to New Years and had a great time in the city . Certainly full of life around then , buzzing with tourists but yet not overcrowded !

This is where the Sydney to Hobart yacht race congregate after the grueling days on the high seas. The Cove is also the centre of seafood restaurants on the edge of the harbour. All year long you can meander around this place watching the variety...More

Stopped off here for lunch and was able to view several very old ships. Plenty of parking but it can get busy.

All part of the waterfront in general with old sailing ships and new boats and fishing boats, restaurants all together. A nice place to stroll along.

This is such an interesting area, there are always ships coming and going such as the Sea Shepard ships, arctic supply ships and the historic ships. There is a recreation of Mawson's hut and the fishing boats. Always worth walking around.

Lots of activity at the cove. Cruise ships arrived and departed morning and evening during our 3 day stay. Art galleries, cafes, restaurants. Henry Jones Long Bar, small intimate with original beautifully preserved sandstone bricks. IXL factory memorabilia as part of refurbishment.

This whole area became an amazing display of hundreds of interesting, historic boats, related displays, entertainment and Tasmanian produce for the 2017 event. Do not miss it in 2019.

Some restored historic boats and wharfs, nice to walk around the area and explore. Gets busy when cruise boats are in.
