Historical old buildings and some great little cafes, restaurants and shops.

Love all the old historical buildings large and small. Some lovely restaurants and cafes and interesting little shops. A lovely area to walk around. A short walk to Salamanca.

We stayed 6 days in a lovely historic house / hotel at Battery Point. Situated central for driving out to explore other sites in Hobart. Close enough to walk to city sites. It has its own Very Good eateries why bother going into town. Battery Point is an interesting area with so much history. Each building is interesting to look... More

The book has a map you can follow and the history of some of the different houses along the way. At times I felt like I was in a village... More

Beautiful historic precinct. Very good examples of heritage and small Georgian cottages in Australia. Do not miss Arthur Circus and the little restaurants and shops on Hampden Rd. Conveniently located just behind Salamanca, joined by Kellys Steps.

Quaint suburb with old houses, some nice cafes and eateries and friendly vibe. Look for the circus of houses.
