We missed the midday theatre production which is recommended by other reviewers, but we did a tour with a volunteer who brought to life, the incredible hardships faced by the female convicts who were confined to this jail. It is definitely a sad story which...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here! It was fascinating to see how the place was run and set out! The volunteers do an amazing job exhaling the history the site!

Somewhat dissappointung because most of the original buildings are gone so lots a ready and artists impressions. Interesting history on female convicts so well worth a visit.More

Such a eye opening site, the Mary tour $20 is a MUST do for Hobart. really gives you a clear understanding of what the convict women and children went through

Interesting place to visit to get a feel for some of Hobart's early convict history, hard life for woman and children in those days. Worth taking the guided tour, the guides very knowledgable and happy to help.
