We visited this as part of a tour. Informative museum area, genuine dugout home, no longer lived in, now for show, see how they made home and mine. Large selection of opal for sale.

We done the underground tour and it was well worth it. It’s great to see evolution of opal mining in coober pedy. Highly recommend.

Coober Pedy is unique in general, but a guided tour Of Umoona Opal Mine was an extremely interesting look into the history of Opal Mining in the region. Great staff!

Well worth the visit, so interesting how the opal was mined, walking through the tunnel s seeing the beautiful surrounding of the caves, has a lovely gift shop, great temperature under ground, appropriate shoes needed Definitely worth a visit

This is an interesting museum and mine that is easily accessible to those without transport. Regular tours are conducted for a reasonable charge or visitors can see the mine as part of Noble Tours half day Town and Breakaways tour.

Taken underground, shown opal, shown how it was and is mined and walking through tunnels. Then finish with the gift shop which has a variety of both cheap and expensive souvenirs and opal jewellery.

Under an hour but very cool and worth a visit . There is a 20 minute video at the start which is a bit dated but it was awesome so glad we saw it . Explained so much about the area . You get to the. Go underground to see... More

Hello thank you for the question the only fee is for our mine tour adults $10 children $5. Family packages available. All other areas including museum are free
