This art museum has something for everyone, whether your favorite style is impressionist, Renaissance or modern. It's big enough to keep you busy, but not so large that you can't visit in a couple of hours and see it all. It's free, but if you enjoy it as I did, you can leave a donation.

This gallery has lots of interesting arts related to the area, whether from the days of earliest settlement or modern days. Did the free guided tour and learned a lot from the paintings of the early days. Also, the modern arts are fascinating and reflects the australian style from local artists. Very worthwhile to see!

i love this place. It's always on the list when I'm in Adelaide. The collection of colonial and Australian works is extensive; temporary exhibitions are always worth checking out. Easy to spend a good half day here.

The Art Gallery of SA has a very good collection and regular exhibitions and is a great way to pass an afternoon in Adelaide. The cafe is also good, and we enjoyed lounging in the garden.

The Art Gallery has First Friday events on the first Friday of the month - free entry and open from 5-9pm. As well as access to the main exhibitions, there is live music, some food and drinks available. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike.

The gallery is interesting in the layout of the exhibitions. The paintings and art are very eclectic and not for everyone's taste...including mine. Having said that the paintings I liked were wonderful especially the early Australian scenes and portraits. Basically the gallery does a great job catering to all types of media and design so if one does not like... More
