Can go for a day or sleep over night. At least two easily accessible beaches and fish and corals are just a few feet off the shore! Three hikes in the rain forest. Incredible!

The first thing we did when we went to Fitzroy Island was go for a swim. However there is no sand along the beach, it was all dried coral which made it extremely difficult to walk along - we would definitely recommend sand shoes to wear as my thongs didn't cut it. There was also quite a bit of rubbish... More

This was our second trip to Fitzroy Island. It is an idyllic location just 45 minutes by boat from Cairns. While you can see the mainland, you still feel like you are a million miles away. A great day escape if you want to relax or do a few walks. You can also snorkel over the coral, but not being... More

It's only a small island, but there is enough to keep you occupied for a few days. We walked most of the island and some of it is quite challenging (steep and hot). Fortunately you can never get lost and if you do, just keep walking and you'll get back to where you started.

We visited Fitzroy island by the resort ferry and enjoyed a 3 hour sea kayaking tour with Raging Thunder in the middle of the day out to Little Fitz (tiny island) and back. Highlight of the day - kayaking and relaxing at Nudey Beach. Both took our breath away! Highly recommend this trip!

This island is so beautiful! You can relax on the beach, snorkeling or walk up to the Summit and have one of the best views I ever seen over the Island! You can't miss a tour to the turtles rehabilitation center! There are rescued turtles almost ready to be released! It is amazing to meet them and know something more... More

A small volcanic island in Australia's Great Barrier Reef near Cairns. Quite busy with day tourists, but enough space for it not to be crowded. A coral reef to explore by snorkel or scuba. 2 small but unspoiled beaches. And 2 well marked and maintained walking tracks, an easy 45 minute return walk to the 'hidden garden', and a longer...
