Surfer Paradise is the famous White Sand Bay on the Gold Coast. The beach here is very thin and it is very comfortable to step on it. Looking down from the hostel where you live, the sea waves also beat the sand on the beach, creating a beautiful picture. Yesterday afternoon I saw a lot of people dragging surfboards to the sea, thinking they came to surf, observing for a while to know they were learning.

We came here for a 2 week break and have always loved this beach. Didn't spend a lot of time on it this time round as the esplanade following the beach is a lot easier to walk (I did 4km with my 14 year old son). It's got nice soft sand right from the esplanade to the ocean and both the beach and esplanade literally goes on for km's and km's in both directions. Great for walking, cycling, scooting etc. Do be careful as they come out of nowhere when you are walking.

Short family trip with our teenage daughter. Wonderful accomodation at Peppers Soul. Large appartment style two bedroom & 2 bathrooms Ocean side on 24 floor. Staff attentive & cleaned daily. Surfers Main Beach clean & beautiful.
Local food restaurants amazingly fresh seafood. Night markets & fireworks Saturday night.
Japanese at the QT 5 ⭐️. Rick Shores in Burleigh Heads lives up to hatted restaurant standards.
We had a great break.
Thanks Peppers & GC ☀️🏖️🐚

The most famous and sought after area and that is why it is always full of people, crowded in season. However, the beach itself is extensive and even with a lot of people, it can still be good.
It is one of those chosen by surfers, although there are other beaches that are very suitable for this sport. It has a wide waterfront with benches and pleasant green spaces, great for walking.
As my stay on the Gold Coast was prolonged, we went several times to visit the beach and the Surfers area in general, which offers pedestrian streets, shopping centers, recreation, as well as numerous restaurants, bars and chain stores. There is a very varied range of accommodation of different types.
There are the most important buildings of GC, highlighting Q1 with its spectacular panoramic viewpoint.
I wouldn't choose it to stay because of its great movement, but I loved it for walking. It is a must in the city.

I came here one morning and, after breakfast in one of the many cafes on the main boulevard leading to the famous beach, I took my time to explore the lay of the land. The beach itself was relatively quiet despite it already being a hot and beautifully sunny day. What I appreciated were the main references to keeping safe and ensuring that you kept an eye on your mates in the water. Of course, there are plenty of lifeguard posts on this stretch of the beach as well as loads of freshwater showers, changing rooms, free restrooms. I made good use of the many park benches to just sit, enjoy the atmosphere & views of the surf and partake in that essential activity of people watching.
I decided to go on a long walk - in fact longer than I had anticipated all the way up to the Spit. On the way, I encountered some of the more exotic birdlife (the avian variety) and I was intrigued to see how many high-rise buildings were being constructed. In fact, when you look at this stretch of coastline those of us from Europe may be tempted to make the comparison with Benidorm. But I, for one, felt that this area was a little more up market, much cleaner and organised and certainly not quite so tacky.
All in all, I'm pleased that I can tick this one off my extensive bucket list.

With its iconic lifesavers & many & varied cultural, sporting events that take place every year, this beach is well recognised by tourists & locals today. Its sandy coastline extends over 42km making it a walkers haven for daily exercise. Its backdrop of high rise buildings that cast their shadow in the afternoon setting of the sun are a daily reminder of what a Gold Coast lifestyle has to offer - a playground of sun, surf and fun.

We visited on New Years Eve and had a wonderful day, This is one of the best beaches I have ever been on. It was very busy but didn't feel overcrowded, the sand was lovely the sea was clear. However it was very strong and not suitable for young children my 3 year old was able to stand at the waters edge and paddle within arms length. There are sections that are patrolled by the life guards and I wouldn't swim outside this area. Every kind of shop is on the road next to the beach along with a vast array of restaurants/coffee shops. Everything you could want is a short walk away. Parking was easy along the sea front on a parking meter and was $4 an hour. There were showers on along the beach front but were very hit and miss. Would love to return and stay for longer next time highly recommend a visit to anyone who is in the area.

Hi Kaylie G - Thanks so much for your review. We're so glad to know you had an amazing time at Surfers Paradise beach. The lifesavers from Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Club do a fantastic job at keeping the beach safe year-round. There is definitely something for everyone in Surfers Paradise - next time you come make sure you check out the Beachfront Markets, held each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings from 5pm - they make for a great night out at the beach.

It’s the best romantic beach for the lovers walking along the beach hand in hand, better not in overhead sun. Highly recommend to go there near sunset, especially in summer time, not too hot. Take off the shoes or slippers, feel the smooth sand with your bare foot. The feeling is wonderful. And feel energetic too when seeing the surfers surf on the waves.

This beach is so long with lots of flagged patrol areas.
We had an amazing evening swimming and watching the passing whales put on a show for us.
There are shower and taps at each access and some good clean toilets at some.
Top tip, if you're hanging out for a while, find an area with toilets and or a good surf club.

We caught the train from Central Brisbane to Surfers Paradise on Monday 28/12/20 via Helensvale Station.
Noticed many changes around Surfers Paradise since my last visit in 2002.
A short stroll walking around the Beach Area & Shops after visiting Skypoint.
An Interesting day & very impressed with the rail network system for a smooth comfortable train trip from Brisbane CBD.
Used our Travel Link travel cards for the entire trip.

Are there Saltwater Crocodiles around the Gold Coast or Surfer’s Paradise? Because I want to mainly visit there but I’m pretty scared of Crocs

Hello, thinking of coming in august. Will it be warm enough to enjoy the beach. Is it worth it to come in August ?
thank you
Written 9 January 2020
Hi Audreyma - You can definitely visit Surfers Paradise beach all year round and people do swim and surf year-round. It depends on how warm you like the water to be. In August, the water temperatures are at their coldest as we are in winter and will range around 19-22 degrees celsius. It's lovely to walk on the beach as we have many beautiful sunny days.
We hope that helps!

Can I go for a bike ride on that beach? I want to go from one end of that beach to other end of that beach on bike!
Written 19 April 2019
Hi Sonali B
The Gold Coast Oceanway is a 36km stretch of pathways from The Spit to Coolongatta and which will go along the Esplanade at Surfers Paradise. The views are amazing and will be beautiful by bicycle - enjoy!

Any stingrays on that beach?
Written 8 April 2019
Haven’t seen any.
The waves are pretty high, they don’t like that environment.
You can find some at Sea World though.
Not to swim with, but look, feed, take pictures.

Hi, I’m planning on travelling by train for a day trip from Brisbane and will be solo, are there any lockers nearby that I can rent to leave my mobile etc if I wanted to go for a swim?

Our experience is that you just leave your stuffit in a bag, take a swim.
Nerver ever lost anything. The Australians are very honest and nerver heard about any steelings.
