The gardens and the brilliant little free zoo is a fantastic place for the kids to visit and adults alike. My two grandchildren 3 and 4 had the time of their lives watching the birds and monkeys having fun, we finished with a treat at the coffee shop.

Beautiful gardens but sad to see the total lack of care and plant loss in all the shade houses and glass house. This used to be some of the best public displays around. The Rockhampton City Council should be ashamed in destroying what was once a beautiful display by its neglect. They cannot lay the blame for this loss on... More

These are great well laid out gardens with a free zoo in them. Also there is a great café there to have some lunch and a coffee. There is plenty of shade to stay out of the sun.

Beautiful spot to lay a picnic blanket, and have a bite to eat or just have a quick nap under the beautiful trees.... The place looked immaculate considering the floods had just devastated the area only a couple of weeks prior....

Well maintained lush garden fronting onto Murray Lagoon. Wonderful setting for a walk or for a picnic. Abundant bird life and the gardens are big enough to ensure no overcrowding. Really great venue that is now well over 100 years old.

Just a really nice place to take a quiet break away from the rest of the world. Green and lush when I went there. Just sat and let the rest of the world disappear.

Beautifully maintained gardens, a credit to the staff of Rockhampton City Council. Plus the ease of parking and access to the Rockhampton Zoo is also a nice treat

A large area that is well looked after. There is a nice coffee shop under some large trees that has good coffee and is cool in summer. You do have to watch your food carefully as the local birds will steal it as soon as you take your eyes off it. There are a lot of areas to wander and... More
