Daintree Safaris and Nicholas Fox conduct luxury, four wheel drive day...

Daintree Safaris and Nicholas Fox conduct luxury, four wheel drive day tours from Port Douglas to the oldest rain forest on Earth. We carry a maximum of just six guests per day, travelling exclusively in the comfort of a spacious, late model Toyota 200 series Land Cruiser, featuring individual air conditioning and equal legroom throughout. We’ll cross The Daintree River by cable ferry on our way to the Jindalba board-walks. Enjoy a morning tea of home-made muffins and locally grown tea or freshly ground plunger coffee. See two World Heritage sites meet as the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef touch at Cape Tribulation's beach. Take advantage of a true locals knowledge and enjoy our secret, sparkling swimming hole. Savour frosty, tropical delights at The Daintree Ice Cream Company while you stroll through their beautiful gardens. Then, stop for a photo, at the scenic Alexandra Lookout. Lunch, well sit back relax and dine, a la carte, in any weather at The Daintree Tea House Restaurant. Enjoy a choice of Chicken, Beef, Vegetarian and allergy free meals or perhaps you'd like to try our tropical speciality, Barramundi. All dishes are served with salad, chips, fresh bread and a large array of tropical fruit. Your host will talk you through all the exotic locally grown delicacies as you enjoy your meal. Next we take you to The Daintree River Cruise Centre for a one hour guided wild life spotting cruise on the Daintree River. Perhaps we'll spot one of our giant Saltwater Crocodiles. With World Heritage Accreditation and over twenty year’s local experience, Daintree Safaris knows how to show you the best of our beautiful region in comfort and style.

We had an amazing day with our guide Nicholas. He is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic and this is conveyed throughout the day. We learned so much about the rainforest that will stay with us forever - we can now identify buttress roots on many nature programmes, the use of the berry of the blushwood tree to fight cancer and so... We chose this tour based on great trip advisor reviews and we are so glad we did! Nicholas was our tour guide and gave us a wonderful day touring the Daintree. Right from pick up he gave us lots of facts about agriculture, different species of plants/birds and weather. There were 5 of us on the tour in total so... More

Nicholas, guide extraordinaire, is the envy of Port Douglas locals - he has an innate ability to spot the illusive cassowary! Friends who've lived there for 20 years are green with envy - they haven't seen one in all that time. However, thanks to his impeccable timing on the way to the Daintree we saw a wonderfully large female, known... More

Nic , your guide, was fantastic. His mind is like a encyclopedia filled with wonderful rich facts about the rainforest and surrounding areas. We actually spotted the rare Cassowary ! then on our walk to the stunning swimming hole Nic pointed out a large footprint in the mud what a sight. The afternoon tea at the beach was delightful and... Cruising in comfort in Nic's V8 diesel Landcruiser. Nic is the David Attenborough of the Daintree. Rainforest walk, refreshing water hole swim, very rare Cassowary siting, big croc siting...wow! Nice fruit and awesome lunch that included wild Barramundi with unusual but nice exotic fruit. Tour not to be missed.

So glad we chose this safari, Nicholas was full of knowledge and gave us lots of helpful tips for our holiday as well as information about the region. He spotted a cassowary and rainforest dragon which we would not have otherwise seen. The homemade morning tea was a nice touch and the ice cream was absolutely incredible (flavours were native... We did a full day trip into the Daintree Forest which was guided by Nick, who knows the area in depth and told us a lot that we'd otherwise not have had any idea about. Nick is such a warm personality and a highly motivated guide. We truly enjoyed driving through the forest, Nick spotting a Cassowary for us busy... More

Our full day, private outing with the owner, Nick, could not have been better. We learned so much from this fountain of knowledge- enjoyed a rainforest walk, tea and muffins at Cape Tribulation, stops for photos of the view, ice cream at a fruit orchard and a delicious lunch at a local spot. Nick tailored the trip to our needs-... More

We just returned from a great day out with Nick - who is a fountain of knowledge which is not surprising given the many years he's been conducting these small luxury tours. There was only one other couple on our tour today and thankfully they were a delight to share the day with. We were very happy with the itinerary,... More
