Green Island was fun for a family with young children, both my girls got seasickness on the way to there, I thought that we were lucky in a way that we did not choose the option to go to the Great Barrier Reef, because I did not think they could cope with any longer travel on the day. We had... More

Despite the rain, we managed to enjoy the Green Island Trip. Too bad the tail-end of Cyclone Debbie lingered too long and brought wind and rain on the day we visited this beautiful island. There's a resort there where one can stay for a night or two. I'll probably do that the next time I'm in Cairns.

We went to the island with Great Adventures. The Coral Sea was rough and we felt seasick on the 45 min cruise, so be aware of that possibility. We were booked on the 10.30 cruise and booked by the agent on the 11.30 glass bottom boat trip so didn't have any time to recover. We booked the snorkelling adventure and... More

The Green Island was extremely disappointing. Very over priced and everything including water costs extra. They advertise showers, but they are just outdoors water to wash off sand. The reef is mostly dead and there are few fish. When you see snorkelers by the beach in photos they are looking at seaweed the reef is all the way out at... More

Okay island. Boat ride over was comfortable. Island itself is very small. Snorkeling is not good compared to the actual Reef but renting equipment was easy. Beautiful beaches and walk through rain forest. Staff was friendly. Food was okay. Pretty crowded island with tons of tourists. If you have an extra day in Cairns and have nothing to do, I... More

This great barrier reef island gets a lot of traffic from tourists and the snorkeling isn't great. If you go to snorkel go to the 'advanced area' if tide allows. It is a good choice for those with young kids or older travelers that want a couple of options for exploring the ocean such as the semi submarine. The beach... More

Grab an early boat out and snorkel for a day. Really good shallow visibility - I swam with two turtles for a few minutes each! The island is also very picturesque and pretty well-preserved although it was quite packed with loud tourists. Great Adventures is a good company to book with.

We went here for the half day trip and took the snorkelling option on the inner reef. I'd recommend the glass bottom boat instead and if you have the opportunity to go to the outer reef for a better experience of the wildlife. The island itself caters for the tourist experience and as with most islands of this type are... More

Sailed to the reef and managed a few hours on Green island . We didn't stay at the resort , just walked through the shopping area, which seems a little dated, sat on the beach and swam and snorkelled in the beautiful water, a lovely day trip if you get the chance to visit. Would have liked more time to... More

A nice place to spend a day walking through the rainforest, enjoy some snorkelling and lie on the beach. Good food at reasonable prices for a hearty lunch or a quick snack. Lockers available for a nominal fee. Washrooms clean but little room for privacy to change into and out of swimwear. Could have more benches to sit, relax or... More
