The Cairns Botanic Gardens are a tropical paradise where you can explore the beauty of tropical plants, relax in stunning surroundings and learn about tropical flora and horticulture. The Gardens are open from 7.30Am to 5.30Pm every day of the year and entry is free. The Botanic Gardens includes several spaces used for demonstrating the diverse plant life that can be found within a tropical climate. Very good maintained, nice landscapes. We saw the tallest flower in the world blooming. Cafe offers nice coffee and food.

this garden is different to most we have visited as it is tropical ,it also has a butterfly enclosure with a beautiful range of exotic plants & butterflies , it also has a beautiful cafe in among the trees ,palms etc.well worth a visit

Caught the bus from Cairns shopping area and enjoyed a leisurely day strolling around the gardens. Interesting trails to walk, peaceful and not too hot thank goodness. Butterfly enclosure could have had a bit of maintenance and didn't see that many flying around inside. Just...More

Definitely worth a visit. Lots of different birds, wallabies, things to do. The red blue and green walks start from here and the views are spectacular. Lots of edible trees and plants to see. Volunteer groups work in here.

Numerous walks -all interesting plus a great visitors information centre and cafe. Lovely boardwalk, circuit walk in really well maintained gardens. Lovely open spaces for children to enjoy running in as well as great rainforest type walks

These gardens provide walks through typical rainforest areas together with lakers and pristine gardens and you may be lucky to see wallabies and other wildlife.

We stopped by the Botanic Garden on our tour around the city, what a wonderful opportunity to take a short walk and enjoy the beautiful specimen plants and butterfly gardens. Don't miss this special attraction and it FREE! Donations accepted.

We had a day to spare and enjoyed a very nice lunch at the cafe and then walked some of the well marked tracks within the gardens. There are well established tracks with plenty of sign boards and walks to suit all levels of ability....More
