A short drive off the main road and you come to this amazing park. Right on the Brisbane river this park has plenty of room, its dog friendly, has nature walks, playgrounds for the kids and a surprising amount of free bbqs and covered tables.

The park is only a short drive from Indooroopilly and about 15 minutes from the city of Brisbane. It is a host park for "Pipers in the Park" so, if you are interested in pipes and drums, check up the schedule, take along some coffee or a picnic and enjoy a free concert. The park has something for everyone including... More

The Arboretum has a lot to offer everyone. There's a great playground for kids, a huge area to stroll and enjoy nature, as well as the track along the river.

A historical place with interesting things to discover. We enjoyed the Kauri Pine Avenue with beautifully matured trees, the water birds, the view of the Brisbane River from the pontoon, newly planted saplings and old 'climbing' trees. While there we came across a musician playing the accordian at a gathering. We enjoyed the atmosphere. There were benches and trees placed... More

The Sherwood Arboretum is located in the city centre of Brisbane across the water from the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. We visited the arboretum recently, it is really well laid out, it has fig trees, we didn’t get to eat any of the figs but that was okay. There is a great kids play area as well as some nice... More

Gorgeous trees and riverside location in this genteel river suburb filled with beautiful old Queenslander homes. A lovely afternoon with great coffee shops nearby

This is my local walking park. I love the Arboretum. I enjoy walking along the river path and on the pontoon. A very popular place for families and groups. BBQs are popular especially on weekends. There is a toilet block. Lots of space for kicking the ball or playing a game of cricket. The lagoon is also lovely to picnic... More

I always return to this park, it's hidden, we stumbled on it a number of years ago. Find a spot to sit without being surrounded by hundreds of others, breathe in the fresh air, watch the river which surprises you with the raised boardwalk. We've watched medieval knights jousting here with huge medieval tents, costumes, the works, watched some truly... More

Started as an extension to the botanical garden specially for trees. Has a good collection of various trees in a nice setting. Has paths to walk around and get to the river. Picnic places and toilets and areas for children. Also some wild life preservation areas. used to go here on my bike as a kid with my mates and... More
