Have a good look around. Soak up the atmosphere and have a look at the interactive educational stuff. Was a heap of fun that I did not expect.

It seemed like a nice place - very spacious and ambient. However, as an adult there was nothing that really caught my attention. So it was a bit flat and uneventful.

We were walking along South Bank just looking for a place for brunch and chill a bit, and came to this cafe at the State Library. Great selection of salad, wraps and smoothies.

The SLQ is a great place to make a stop when in the Cultural district of Brisbane -- the building looks quite staid from the front, but once you enter, there's much to explore, including exhibits, unique sitting areas, and art. The building is partially open to the outside, providing a wonderful casual feeling. Don't miss it!

During School and University time you will find lots of students diligently looking up facts from the great collection on any subject you could mention. If however you just want to spend a quiet time this is the place. Lots of interesting books to look up and... More

I can't believe I waited ten years to join this library. What a gem. There are also art exhibitions in the building.
