A tremendous step back in time when these wonderful, surprisingly-powerful trams existed on the streets in Brisbane! If you're an adult you'll feel like a kid again, and if you're a kid you'll be in heaven. Being able to sit and ride around in a fully-operational, preserved tram is one thing, but to see footage of Brisbane back up to... More

I took my three children to this excellent museum. It was run by wonderful guides in historical costumes and endless patience, information passionately informed and love of their trams. The older kids enjoyed learning about Brisbane's light rail history and even found the tram line to our house. The younger kids (and the older ones) enjoyed the trams operating the... More

We took our 7 year old grandson here for a visit on a Sunday afternoon. He had a great time riding the trams, we his grandparents had a good time learning of the history of Brisbane's Tramway system. Although the track distance is not huge the experience is worthwhile. We were able to ride on 7 different trams from the... More

I have always had an interest in local history; having grown up in brisbane i only have vague memories of trams rumbling past my grandmother's house at Gordon Park. The tramway museum is a testament to the dedicated people who keep it going. There are a variety of trams which you can take a ride on and some even have... More

So glad we decided to spend the afternoon - a wonderful historical collection of Brisbane trams and memorabilia, with the opportunity to ride most classes of tram. The drivers and engineers are a friendly lot, keen to share their memories and knowledge about these wonderful treasures. Bear in mind that trams may not operate if it is too wet.

WE all had a great time at the Brisbane Tramway Museum. I am old enough to remember the Brisbane trams, so it was great to be able to reminisce with the workers there and yes, I call them workers because they never stop and are only too happy to share the history of the various trams maintained at the Museum... We visited the Brisbane Tramways Museum as part of a group from the Annerley Stephens History Group, but after previous experience here, we made sure that we had the grandchildren along. For the children aged 6, 3 and 2, the rides on the trams were a wonderful experience – the rattling along the track and the trams of all ages.... More

My kids had a fantastic time at the Tram museum. We got to ride in multiple different types of trams and explore ones currently under restoration. The volunteers were extremely knowledgable and happy to have a chat. My only issue is that it's only open on Sunday afternoon as we would like to go more but this time is hard... More
