Travelled the area for a few days late last year.Because the water is very shallow the water is to hot to really enjoy. Mataranka hot springs a far better to look at and swim in but a further distance from darwin.

A great day out exploring. The hot springs are very hot in some places . A great place to bring visitors, for a day trip or camping. Facilities are clean but bring all your necessities as there are no shops near by

Follow the signs and don't be put off by the dirt road, its fine to use even if not in a 4 WD. Great camping area plenty of fire pits, loads of parking, clean toilet facilities. Follow the path to the hot springs, be careful to test the water before you step in the closer to the spring the hotter... More

We came across these hot springs by chance and were really pleased we did! They were not crowned like some of the others which made it a much nicer experience. The water was so hot in places, like having a hot bath! Also there were a lot of smaller fish which liked to nip your feet- almost like a free... More

The Douglas camp is bare, dusty, with no shade and basic amenities. However the real treat are the Springs themselves, with many pools to choose from, with many temperature ranges - from the really hot to luke warm, and the tantalising sensation of hot and cold water running over you at the same time. The access road is not sealed... More

Stopped in for a short swim, amazing place especially when you are in the middle of no where really and the water in parts is boiling, lovely sandy banks and some parts of the water were just right, beware of the hot parts though

Well worth a visit. Take your tent and swag and set up camp at the Hot Springs. You can stay at the campground at the Springs, or book a site at the nearby caravan park. The Springs are safe for swimming, but stay crocwise and don't take risks in the deep, still water.

This is a great spot for kids as the river is quite shallow. Swim in the section that suits your temperature preference. The camp area is quite good with shower and toilet BUT we were there at the end of a long weekend and the amenities were pushed WAY beyond capacity. We had planned to be there for 2 nights... More
