It was here we learned how patients in remote places were treated over the phone. Each person gets a box with different numbered pills in it and when they are ill, they describe their symptoms over the phone and the doctor tells them which number pill to take. In more serious cases the doctor takes to the air and patients... More

I re visited this place to see the new museum since I had been there 15 years ago. Was a little disappointed, although interesting and very worthwhile subject I felt the tone was more aimed at getting donations rather that focusing on the work of the RFDS past and present. Displays not really interactive and a little dry. Good mock... More

Not only can you enjoy browsing throughout the museum, but you can also enjoy a breakfast or lunch. There is a very attractive indoor seating section as well as a shaded outdoor area. The menu is small but covers all the essentials plus a few surprises. Roast turkey with stuffing and roast veg. My meal was excellent (lamb yiro) and... More

It's not a big place but the history behind the Flying Doctor Service is very interesting. There's a mock up of a plane that you can go inside to see just how small it is and you wonder how doctors cope with the small space. Small gift shop and café. The FDS is so synonymous with Australia you just have... More

The Flying Service is a most interesting attraction - and service providing a vital access to medical treatment throughout expansive territories. The history, the video and speakers were wonderful. Try to check this spot out!

Also the cafe is good and worth a visit. We enjoyed a couple of hours here and learned a lot about the past and reality today Thank... More
