The walk along the foreshore on a sunny winters day is a great experience. On the left you have the harbour with all the boats going by and on your right is the lovely botanic gardens. It is wheelchair friendly.

This is a really nice walk - the path is mostly flat as it meanders around the edge of the harbour, past the small peninsula of Mrs Macquarie's Chair and up to the Botanical Gardens, which are beautiful. There are interesting rocks along the water's...More

Great harbor and garden views. Leave yourself plenty of time as the walk is a little longer than I was expecting. Go at least 30 minutes before sunset so that you can find your way to water.

The most remarkable building in the city, not to be missed and discovered best by walking from the Botanical garden, so you get a view on the Opera House and Sydney's bridget

It's a lovely walk, take time to visit The Opera House and then walk to the Botanic Garden to take more pictures of the bay.

If you really want to take lovely pictures with Opera house in the background then this is the best place. Make sure you go there before noon otherwise sun will be on your back :)

We started at the botanical gardens and walked to the opera house. It was beautiful!! Then we had lunch at one of the restaurants with a harbor view. I would highly recommend doing this!

The Opera House is next door to the entrance to the Botanic Gardens and is a short, easy, level walk affording lovely views of the harbour. If the weather is good this is well worth doing.

I plan on driving into Sydney from Katoomba on a Monday morning during mid-January. Would it be ostentatious of me to believe that I can see the harbour front, Opera House, and Botanic Gardens all in one day while still leaving time for lunch, dinner, and checking into an AirBnB nearby?

You should be able to do all that in the morning. There are tours of the opera house you might not have time for if you want to wander around the gardens longer - but they are all right in the same place, so if you have an... More

Trying to get a handle on the weather in early April in Sydney. Would appreciate any help. This walk sounds like a 'must do' on our list. We'll be there for three days prior to our cruise, in April, 2016.

April in Sydney is Autumn : it's warm but not as hot as in the summer months. Very nice for walking about. Expect daytime temperatures around 20°C (68°F) cooling down at night to 15°C (58°F) .
Should I book tickets to see the Opera House in advance?
