The Opera House is a stunning structure. You can walk around it, through it, on a guided tour or you can experience a show/Opera inside it. Either way it is a fascinating building and architecturaly is a great achievement.

In Sydney a day early so took some time to walk the city. Walk around the Opera house with fantastic views of the harbour and bridge. Botanical garden was a nice addition with peaceful walks and more great views. Very relaxing.

We love this walk. We often stay at the wharf hotel in Woolloomooloo and often walk to the opera house. It is so beautiful in the early morning. Good steps for your Fitbit

It takes less than half an hour to walk this stretch and along the side one finds quite a few benches with nice views of the Opera House, gardens and skyline. For those who like to walk this... One afternoon I visited the Botanic Gardens and then walked along the water to the Opera House. It's a great walk full of beautiful scenes.

We did the walk in reverse, starting at the Botanical Gardens, walking to Mrs. Macquarie's Chair and then back around to the Opera House. It was a beautiful Spring day. Some of the flowers in the garden were past their prime, but beautiful all the same. The Garden is large, meaning that crowds disperse, so we never felt like we... More

This is a beautiful walk to take in the city of Sydney. I lived in Sydney with a young baby and frequently did this walk with a stroller or baby carrier/pouch.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
