PEACEFUL AND BEAUTIFUL WALK

We often finished our day walking the route between the Harbor, Opera House and Botanical Garden before retiring to the Holiday Inn at Potts Point.

Be sure you spend some time in the Sydney Botanic Gardens while heading toward the iconic Opera house. There are many pathways to explore and it is also well signed. It is free and wasn't crowded any of the times I passed through (which was daily for a week). It provided a lush green respite from the hustle and bustle... More

This was a pleasant walk despite the heat and a nice way to approach the Opera House. Nice views behind and special views of the harbour too.

Stroll along the sea front to the Gardens, which are beautifully maintained, and take a piknik with you ( yes I know, I seem to live on them...) The plant and tree variety is very diverse, and the flowers stunning, as are the views across the water...

The walk was very nice and we were able to enjoy a couple hours of peace and tranquility during it. The portion of the walk closest to the ocean was bland and boring, but once we reached the middle of the park the foliage came out. The roses were unfortunately out of bloom, but the forest walk was a welcome... More

We took a tour of the Opera House and found it most enlightening. What a magnificent achievement this building is. I would love to have the opportunity one day to attend an orchestra performance,

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
