Well worth the drive out to this spectacular lookout. Few Sydneysiders are aware of how wonderful this view is. There are also many walks (short and long) with a wildflowers (early spring) and Aboriginal art works

I am fortunate to be a cyclist, and ride from my residence to West Head Lookout & return once or twice per week (80km round trip), and I can vouch for this being one of the best/scenic locations in Sydney.

We parked up perhaps about 2 miles from the actual viewpoint. Then walked through some bush on well trodden paths and saw some old aboriginal carvings, although now well worn. Down to a beach saw a Sea Eagle, then climb back up to the viewpoint....More

A wonderful panoramic view of the area. Barrenjoey lighthouse, Lion Island and all the way back to Patonga, Umina and Ettalong. Breathtaking views of the entrance to the beautiful ocean. A lovely headland and worth the drive.

We drive to the lookout hoping to do the hour-long walk, but alas the weather gods were agin us. We will visit another time. Great views back to Palm Beach
