My wife and I took our 15 year old niece and 18 year old nephew to Manly beach for the day. The beach was very nice and the shopping / eating areas were quite nice as well. A good place to take teenagers.

You need to take a ferry from the Circular Quay to the beach. Try to board the top of the ferry for you get to pass under the Harbour Bridge with a glorious view of the Sydney Opera house. But it is rather breezy there...More

A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take
you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches
here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the
day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is
a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the
Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are
plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent
cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants
