With the fine afternoon weather we decided to take a look at the Botanical gardens. There are several entrances. The most often used I suppose is just opposite the main entrance to the Sydney Opera house. Since we were walking from our hotel on Pitt St, we walked towards the Harbour until we got to Bridge St and took a... More

Carrying on from our foray with the paintings we carried on within The Domain until we entered the garden. It is a place of peace and contemplation amongst the many plants, there are even Red bananas, something I didn't know existed. They have a cafe and restaurant the former provided us with a well needed drink. I could have spent... More

We were walking back to our hotel and decided to take a walk through the gardens. They are great with some wonderful trees. It's worth the stop and it's free.

We walked through these gardens on a rainy day and they were so green and lush. The garden is full of beautiful birds and views of the water and city

Some interesting specimens for keen gardeners and a quiet retreat from the bustling Circular Quay area. Cafe and restaurant in grounds.

The Royal Botanic gardens are an absolute standout in Sydney. The gardens are wonderful and the Sydney harbour backdrop is out of this world. You have have a wonder around these gardens, spend the afternoon. Best of all it is in the heart of Sydney.

Lots of trees, birds, benches, photo opportunities of both the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Great way to see the harbour and stretch your legs in a beautiful setting.

A lovely place to have a stroll away for the noise of Sydney. A must for plant lovers and bird watchers.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
