A lovely place to explore. Hard to believe you are still in such a busy place when you are meandering through the trees and sculptures in the gardens. An escape from the hustle n bustle of Sydney streets with gorgeous views over the water.

So, am down from Brisbane for a couple of days on business, company head office is in Sydney, and a team building exercise in the botanical gardens for the day! Personally, let me just wander and read the print off every notice board and name tag and I would be over the moon, add in spectacular Sydney weather, and a... More

Had an enjoyable walk around the Botanic Gardens. Great views of the Opera House. Colourful flora and trees. Nice cafe on site too.

During our recent travels to Sydney, Australia, we took the time to walk from the Opera House to the Botanical Gardens to see Mrs. Macquaries Chair and it was a long leisurely walk in the Gardens at the end of a very long day. We had just enough energy to see Mrs. Macquaries Chair and then take the first available... More

Large botanical gardens next to the Opera House, so combine the 2 on a days sightseeing. Well laid out and has plenty of information on the plants. Lovely just to relax in.

Just next to the Sydney CBD, this garden is relaxing and when you look up, exiting skyline of the city is just behind. Close to Opera house, Hyde park, and historical the rocks district where you will enjoy walking.

You have this fantastic view of the City and the harbour from all areas of the Gardens, as well as the great sights within the Gardens themselves. A must visit to Sydney. I was there photographing for work and its just a nice peaceful place to be.

Unbelievable collections, we took tour(6$ i guess) Its worth if you cant walk. It took close to 30 minutes. For sure you need lots of water and energy if you plan to walk by urself. Plenty to look around. Its worth visiting for sure, if you like gardens.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
