I really enjoyed the tour of the Sydney Opera House. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable and kept us moving. I did have a problem half way through with my headset which couldn't be fixed so I recommend really making sure yours is working before heading out.

Can't quite put into words really! Just an amazing piece of architecture that both looks amazing both day and night! We had a lovely evening spending the night at the opera bar being able to admire the views of the opera house all lit up! Go on a Saturday for fireworks as well, unforgettable night!

I don't give it an excellent purely because of all the story's I heard before i visited: I thought it would be bigger. Still a beautiful piece or architecture of course, but it was too crowded when we visited. Still makes some great pictures to show back home.

I have been around Sydney so long, the Opera House Sails are part of some of my earliest memories. They look spectacular, good weather or bad, sun rise to sun set, (and even at night), but internally the old shiela is pretty wonky. It all started with the ABC's insistence of putting the opera theatre in the wrong shell to... More

Yet another Sydney icon not to be missed. Even if all you do is wander around outside and get the obligation photo on the steps. I would recommend doing the tour. Inside is amazing and the guides are knowledgeable. Definitely not to be missed on any visit to Sydney

The most iconic landmark of Sydney at Bennelong Point. Opened in 1973. Since 2007 on the list of the UNESCO World Heritage. A hotspot for tourists, food, bars and taking amazing photos of Sydney. A magnificent view on day and night. Enjoy a long walk from the Circular Quay to the Botanical Garden.

One of the most recognizable view in the world, The Opera House is a grand building, easy to approach and near the middle of everything in town.

My husband and I took a tour of the building and it was very entertaining and educational. I would do it again. Book far in advance. Wear walking shoes! It's allot of walking and stair climbing. We also attended a ballet later that evening. The dancers were fantastic but it was 99 deg.F. outside and cool inside, and we had... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
