Dirty looking brown building that somehow always appears to photograph white. The performances there are also very expensive. the best bit about the opera House is the seal that lives on the back steps. I was very disappointed in this building.

I subscribe to the Australian Ballet, I see 4 ballets a year, it is fantastic, amazing dancers the whole atmosphere is wonderful I look forward to each performance, usually I have coffee and a sandwich outside the Drama theatre, close to all amenities and the lift. There is a courtesy bus that leaves from Circular Quay near the Manly wharf... More

We recently attended an event with band and orchestra-wonderful! Easy to access, great range of dining nearby and ease of entering and being seated. The pricing of all beverages and food was fair. The toilet facilities are great as it is difficult with everyone at the interval! This iconic building delivers inside and out, style and function. 5 stars all... More

haven't been to the Opera House in years. Went to a live show there. WOW it has changed. Much better thought out fore court with restaurants evenly distributed around the area and reasonably priced.

Do yourself a favour and take the Sydney Opera House tour when you're next visiting this beautiful building. The guides are passionate about their subject matter, the building itself is both a partner in the presentation and is coaxed into revealing her secrets. A brilliant look into who and what the Sydney Opera House is. Runs for an hour and... More

Words are simply not enough to describe this building. We walked around at night to a beautiful lit Sydney skyline, Circular Key and the Bridge and no crowds.Fantastic, what a city, building and harbour. Very Proud to have it in our sate and country.

We saw Operation Ouch Live here last week. Excellent location, lots of cafes and restaurants. Amazing harbour views. Very clean venue, great staff. Many kids activities and play areas. Parking close by wasn't too expensive.

Took my two grand kids to a show called 'Operation Ouch'. The guy at ticket counter was willing to help out to our predicament and helped us and made us very happy. Show starts on time. (Is it not a primary requirement?). A very big screen shows the action on the stage for the young people at the farthest seat,... More

I have been here many times but this is the first time I have reviewed it. Our Opera House is world class and attracts local as well as overseas performers. I have seen the ballet, opera as well as singers and children's concerts. All were just fabulous. I guess as Sydney siders we take it for granted having watched it... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
