Visited here twice in the last couple of weeks - once to see John Water's "Looking through a Glass Onion" (the John Lennon story) & then a Suzi Quatro concert. Both were excellent shows in a theatre that doesn't seem to have a bad seat. Have been several times in past to see other concerts including Bryan Adams & Cat... More

We enjoyed walking around the building, sitting on the steps and popping inside to get a feel of the place. You can get guided tours which look great, or you can book to see opera or other music. We didn't really have time. The Sydney Opera House is visible from the many ferries which cross the harbour. It also looks... More

If you are planning to come to Sydney for holidays, you must visit the Sydney Opera House. You won't regret it, I highly recommend this place. I am lucky enough to work in the city in Sydney, so I get to go to Circular Quay very often to contemplate the view.

My son Julian and I walked along the wharf with great anticipation to the Sydney Opera House for our 10 am tour. A man named Darryl gave us an enlightening tour through the interior of the Opera House, which includes three performing venues- the Studio (for mostly cabaret-style performances); The Concert Hall (for symphony and pop headliner concerts); and the... Lovely building, you can walk from Circular bay to walk there. There are restuarants and tourist shops along the way. There is a resturant there next to the opera house.

We're not opera lovers but felt we should take the time and do the 7:00am "SOH Guided backstage Tour". It was interesting and well done. We're glad we did it and enjoyed the opportunity to stand on stage(s) and see orchestral areas and other rooms. The breakfast provided with the tour was quite nice and well worth it. We would... It is really worth the money to pay the guided tour inside of it. See any opera if you are able to book in advance as you would be surprised.

You have to visit the Opera House, and get up close. You cannot appreciate the craftsmanship and detail of the place from afar. I've been to Sydney three times, and visited the Opera House each time. On my lat visit I did the interior tour, which was great, but this time we just hung around the outside, taking pictures and... More

WOW!!! As a musician & music teacher as well as a former thespian, this was a bucket list item that was as exciting & magnificent as I ever dreamed it would be! It was well worth the early morning (6:45am) start time & the price! This building holds much more than just it's breath-taking, iconic outward appearance & long list... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
