Went to Manly this Sunday & the ferry was quite busy. I have also been on other ferry routes just for the ride. It would be the best & cheapest way to see Sydney Harbour.

Whether for commuting, sight-seeing or touring, there is nothing so relaxing as being on the sea in a boat. And when you don't have to steer, navigate or feed the engine, you can really relax. There are covered and open areas; so you can cope with almost any weather. The seating is broad enough for most families. From Circular Quay... More

Cruising the harbour by ferry would have to be my top tip for tourists visiting Sydney, but I have to say that as a lifetime resident, I never tire of it either. Make Circular Quay your base, and purchase an Opal transport card to get the greatest flexibility and best prices. I also suggest downloading the excellent TripView app onto... More

Take the ferry from Circular Quay to the King St wharf and visit Barangaroo, then pop back on to go to Balmain and Milsons Point. Its the best way to see Sydney harbour, stress free, relaxing with minimum fare charge.

Easy access to buy tickets (self-serve kiosk). Affordable one day pass at $15.00. One way fares around $7.00 (au). Fast, efficient and well worth the fare. excellent option instead of walking int he heat of the summer.

Hotel at Darling Harbour and wanted to visit Opera House so jumped on the ferry. Once we worked out how to work ticket machine we were good to go. If visiting different places you can get a all day ticket we just used single tickets. As we walked a lot and also used the train. Ferries are frequent and great... More

An Opal is a transport pass for the public transport system in Sydney, it makes travelling easy and very affordable. By buying an "Opal" we were able to board the various ferries and travel in relative comfort back and forth across the harbour. We visited Various destinations around the harbour enjoying the beautiful views from all sides. I would recommend... More
